Burna Boy Biography, Net Worth, and Expensive Lifestyle in 2021

Burna Boy, the self-described “African Giant,” is without a doubt one of the top five largest and most influential performers in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. He has stood out among his fellow Nigerian singers since his arrival in the Nigerian music scene in 2012 with his lead single “Like To Party” off his debut album – L.I.F.E., all because to his distinct style of music.

Burna Boy achieved as a growing singer what his peers — whom he considered as idols — did in just a few years after joining the music industry. As a result, he has gotten back-to-back Grammy nominations (the first in Nigerian history) and even won one at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards for his album “Twice as Tall,” which was nominated for “Best Global Music Album.”

In his Afro-pop, Dancehall, and Afrobeats tracks, his distinctive style of enhanced fusions of Pidgin, Yoruba, and Igbo has helped him make a name for himself as one of the most brilliant, skillful, and charismatic singers.

Early life, Background & Education

Despite his rising fame in Lagos State, many people are unaware of his origins. Burna Boy is from Ahoada, a tiny community near Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, where he was born. He was born into the Samuel and Bosede Ogulu household. His father was well-known for running a welding company, while his mother worked for the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce as a translator.

He is the eldest of his two siblings, the other two of whom are females, making him the family’s lone boy.

Burna Boy’s maternal grandpa, Benson Idonije, was the first manager of Femi Anikulapo Kuti, the famed multi-instrumentalist, artist, and political activist who founded Afrobeats.

Damini Ogulu (Burna Boy) began composing music at the age of ten after a classmate gave him a copy of FruityLoops (a music production software). He grew up in Port Harcourt before going to Lagos State to finish his secondary studies at the famed Corona Secondary School. At the age of 17, he continued his schooling at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom, where he studied Media Technology. He went on to Oxford Brookes University to study Media Communications and Culture shortly after. Soon after, he dropped out to pursue his musical ambitions.

Personal Life

Burna Boy’s most well-known and contentious dating history occurred in 2018, when he was involved in a high-profile romance with English rapper and musician Stefflon Don. He was also honored to be a part of the launch of Manchester United’s new ‘away’ kit in 2020 as a huge supporter.
