The Oppo Reno 6 Pro was a decent update over its predecessor, the Reno 5 Pro, but I didn’t think the new features were enough to justify the price increase. The good news is that Oppo has also released a less expensive non-Pro variant, which, when compared to the two, may be the more practical option. The Oppo Reno 6 shares many features with the Oppo Reno Pro, including the camera app’s Bokeh Flare Portrait effect, 65W quick charging, and a high refresh rate AMOLED display. The Reno 6, on the other hand, is a little less powerful and lacks the beautiful curved-edge display. Are these flaws, however, really deal-breakers for Rs. 29,990?
Oppo Reno 6 Summary
The Oppo Reno 6 shares many features with the Oppo Reno Pro, including the camera app’s Bokeh Flare Portrait effect, 65W quick charging, and a high refresh rate AMOLED display. The design is reminiscent of the iPhone 12, yet it appears to work in its favor. The AMOLED display on the 6.42-inch device looks fantastic. It sports a full-HD+ resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 700nits, according to the manufacturer.
According to Oppo, this is the first phone in India to use the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, which is powerful enough to tackle daily duties and games at full-HD+ quality. The 4,300mAh battery capacity may not seem very amazing, but in daily use, I was easily able to get more than a full day out of a single charge. The Oppo Reno 6 does not have the rear depth camera that the Reno 6 Pro does, but it does have the same set of front and back sensors.
While the Reno 6 is clearly a better bargain than the Pro variant, when compared to the OnePlus Nord 2 and the Poco F3 GT, it may be difficult to justify purchasing it.
