We adore Snapchat because of its transient character. When we snap our friends and followers, the snap only lasts a few seconds before it vanishes. This isn’t always a good thing; your phone can die, or you might accidently skip over a photo you really wanted to see. It’s inevitable that you’ll miss out on certain things.

Sometimes a snap is so good that we want to share it with our followers so they may enjoy it as well. Snapchat Stories is a feature that allows us to keep our snaps up for 24 hours. Followers can watch our narrative whenever they choose and always get the most up-to-date information. After 24 hours, what happens? Of course, the snaps vanish.

There are moments, however, when we wish a snap would disappear sooner. Snapchat, thankfully, allows you to remove snaps from your story at any time. Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy way to delete your entire Snapchat story at once. You can, however, delete each individual story post, eventually removing the entire story. This tutorial will show you how to remove your Snapchat story by removing each individual post!

Accessing Snapchat Stories and Photos

You already know how to save Snaps to My Story if you’re trying to delete them. However, you may not be aware of how to view available photographs in your narrative. It’s simple if you know what you’re doing. Simply swipe right with your finger on your Snapchat camera.

Here you can see the tales of the people you’ve chosen to follow. You can also have a look at your own. My Story can be found at the very top of the screen. There are several methods to interact with this line.

• Tap quickly on My Story to view a slideshow of the available snaps.
• Tap and hold My Story or tap on the three vertical dots on the left to expand the snaps inside the story.
• Tap on the download icon to save the story (more on this later).
• Tap the add photo icon to take a snap right now and add it to the story.

Take a peek at the snap view in its larger form. On the left, there should be a thumbnail image for each snap. A time is directly to the right of that. This time stamp indicates how long that snap has been a part of the narrative. A number adjacent to an eyeball icon can be found on the far right. This figure represents the amount of people who have seen this image. If there’s nothing there, your photo hasn’t been seen.

Saving Stories and Snaps

You might want to save your story before deleting anything. It’s important to remember that once a snap is destroyed, it can’t be recovered. Now is the time to be cautious and save your photos.

You can use the method described above to save your complete tale. Simply tap the download icon next to My Story in the row of icons. Every photo in the tale will be saved to your phone’s camera roll.

A dialog will open up asking for permission to save snaps to the camera roll if Snapchat doesn’t already have it. Yes should be selected. This will take you to the settings on your phone, where you can change Snapchat’s permissions.

Let’s say you’re not interested in saving your entire story. You just want to save a snap or two inside of it. No problem.

1. Expand My Story to view all of the snaps.
2. Tap on the snap you want to save.
3. Tap on the download icon in the lower left hand corner.

As with the story, this will save the snap to your camera roll. You may need to give Snapchat permission to perform this action.

Deleting Snaps From Your Story

Now that you’ve saved all the snaps you want to, it’s time to delete the snaps you no longer want others to see.

1. Expand My Story to view all of the snaps.
2. Tap on the snap you want to delete.
3. Tap on the garbage can icon in the lower left hand corner.
4. Tap Delete to confirm.

Rep this process for all of the photos you want to get rid of. What, you wanted to get rid of the entire story? We’re afraid you’re out of luck. You can only remove individual photographs on Snapchat. You won’t be able to erase them all at once. But, hey, there’s nothing keeping you from deleting each and every photograph one by one.
