As the newest addition to the Smart series, the Infinix Smart 5 was just launched in the sub-Rs. 8,000 pricing range. Given its pricing, I was shocked to find how large this smartphone is when I unboxed it, thanks to the larger-than-usual battery capacity. On paper, the Smart 5 boasts some decent specs and a reasonable starting price of Rs. 7,199. Is it therefore the greatest option for individuals on a restricted budget? To find out, I put the Infinix Smart 5 to the test.
Infinix Smart 5 Summary
The Infinix Smart 5 is a cheap phone with a large 6.82-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop notch. It also sports a front-facing selfie flash, which is popular on Infinix phones. Because of its large 6,000mAh battery, the Smart 5 is bulky and weighs 207g. It has a fingerprint scanner on the back that is slightly higher than optimal.
It is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. Heavy users may be disappointed by the device’s performance, while casual users should have no problems. The phone runs Android 10 on top of Infinix’s XOS 7 UI.
A 13-megapixel primary camera and a depth sensor are included in the dual camera arrangement. For the price, the photo quality is strictly ordinary. Sharpness and color accuracy were lacking in low-light camera performance. Overall, the Smart 5 is designed for casual users on a tight budget.
