You must be signed in to use Dropbox on dropbox.com, the Dropbox desktop software, or the Dropbox mobile app. You can create an account if you don’t already have one.
When you sign into the desktop or mobile app on a device, it gets added to your device list on your account settings’ security page.
Sign into dropbox.com
In a web browser, go to dropbox.com. You can sign in with your email address and password, Google, or Apple. If you don’t already have an account, click Sign up.
Sign into the desktop app
If you’re not signed in when you install the Dropbox desktop software, you’ll be requested to sign in as soon as you open it. You can sign in with your email address and password, Google, or Apple. If you don’t already have an account, click Sign up.
If you’re signed into one account and want to sign into a linked account:
- Open your Dropbox desktop app preferences.
- Click the Account tab. Your linked account email will be displayed.
- Next to your linked account, click Sign in.
Sign into the mobile app
If you’re not logged in when you install the Dropbox mobile app, you’ll be requested to sign in as soon as you open it. You can sign in with your email address and password, Google, or Apple. If you don’t already have an account, click Sign up.
If you’re signed into one account and want to sign into a linked account:
- Open the Dropbox mobile app.
- Open your app settings.
- On Android, tap the menu icon (horizontal lines) in the top left and then Settings.
- On iPhone/iPad, tap the account icon (person) in the bottom right and then the gear icon in the top left.
3. Under your linked account, tap Sign in.
