Department of Electrical/Electronics Engineering:
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for the B.Eng. (Electrical/Electronics) must have 5 O/L credits passes in Mathematics, Physics, English and Chemistry and any other science subject and must be obtained in not more than two sittings. In addition to the above requirements, a candidate must have an acceptable pass in the UMTE.
The 5 ‘O’ level credits could be obtained in WASSC or NECO examinations, or a combination of the two (WASSC & NECO).
The department also offers direct entry admissions into the B.Eng. programme and candidate must possess the following:

- HND (Upper Credit)
Candidates who satisfy (1) and (2) will be admitted into year 2 of the B.Eng. programme, while those that satisfy (1) and (3) are admitted into year 3 of the academic programme.
Department of Civil Engineering:
Admission Requirements:
The admission mode for the B.Eng (Civil Engineering) programme is UME only. Direct Entry Admission would be introduced after accreditation has been obtained.
In addition to the minimum University entry requirements, candidates for the B.Eng (Civil Engineering) programme must obtain in not more than two sittings credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject. In addition to the above requirements, a candidate must also have an acceptable pass in the UME

Department of Mechanical Engineering:
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The Department offers a five years programme for the Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) Honors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. The admission requirement for UME candidates into the course is a minimum of five (5) ordinary level credit pass in West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSSC), General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Nigerian Examination Council Ordinary level (NECO) in not more than two sitting. The credits passes must include English language, mathematic, physics and chemistry. A pass in JAME-UME that meets the departmental cut off mark determined by the university and post-UME screening test required:
ii. Direct entry candidates. Direct entry admission is based on a combination of ‘O’ level results with the following qualifications:
a. G.C.E or HSC (‘A’ level two papers in physics, mathematics or chemistry)
b. OND (Upper credit)
c. HND (Upper credit)
Candidates with qualification as (a) and (b) above may be admitted into 200 level and those with the qualifications as in (c) may be admitted into 300 level. All must meet the basic minimum requirement of 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subject as specified in (i) above.

Department of Biological Sciences:
A. MODE OF ENTRY AND DURATION
A candidate can enter into our degree programme through either the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or the Direct Entry (DE). The UTME candidates spend a minimum of four (4) years and a maximum of six (6) years on the programme. The DE candidates spend a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of five (5) years on the programme.
B. ENTRY REQUIREMENT
In addition to the general entry requirements approved for admission into Nigerian universities, candidates must have passed the SSCE/GCE ordinary level or its equivalent with at least credit pass in five subjects to meet the requirements for admission.
- UTME ADMISSIONS
Candidates for UTME admission must have;
i. An acceptable score in UTME
ii. Five credit passes at SSCE, NECO, GCE O’ Level or equivalent and this should include English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. - DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSIONS
In addition to possessing 5 credit passes for UTME as stated above, candidates for direct entry admission must have;
i. Passes in Biology and Chemistry at GCE A ‘Level, IJMB or equivalent.
ii. Passes at credit level in ND Science Laboratory Technology. (SLT)
Graduation requirements
To qualify for Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree award in Biological Sciences (Biology or Microbiology Option), a student is expected to pass a minimum of 141 credit units with a minimum CGPA of 1.50.
Department of Chemical Sciences:
The entry requirement for the 4-year B. Sc. (Hons) chemistry, Industrial Chemistry includes;
- Credit passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics and English Language at the O’ level, NECO, SSCE or GCE in not more than 2 sittings.
- Holders of IJMB or GCE (Advanced level), HSC (Principal level) or any other equivalent examination with passes in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Biology who have O’ level passes in relevant subjects will also be considered for admission at the 200 level provided that their programmes cover certain basic courses offered in the university up to 200 level.
- Holders of National Diploma (ND) certificates with minimum of upper credit passes are eligible for admission into 200 level depending on the appropriateness of their requisite academic preparation. In addition, candidates with HND/ND must have NECO, SSCE or GCE O’ level credit passes in Mathematics and English Language.
- Candidates who obtain grade (50%) in all the five subjects (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics and English Language) of the University’s preliminary science programme, and also a score of at least 180 at UME shall be eligible for admission. The latter category shall subject themselves to the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME). Furthermore, candidates must have attained the age of sixteen (16) years on or before the 1st day of October on the day of commencement of the academic year of entry into the University.
DURATION OF PROGRAMME
Under normal circumstances, a student should spend four (4) academic sessions to obtain a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree in Pure/Industrial Chemistry. The maximum period allowed for a student to remain on the programme is six (6) academic sessions.
Department of Computer Science:
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Admission into the undergraduate degree programme of the Computer Science Department is as follows:
UTME Candidates are admitted into a four-year degree programme. Admission requirements include; credit level passes in SSCE/GCE O/L/NECO, which must include Physics, Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry and any other science subject in not move than two sittings. In addition, all candidates must have an acceptable pass in UME.

Department of Physics
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Admission into the undergraduate degree programme of the Physics Department is as follows:
UTME Candidates are admitted into a four-year degree programme. Department of Visual Arts Technology:
UME Admission
Credit passes in Maths and English and 3 other SSCE/NECO/GCE subjects (at no more than 2 sittings).
Direct Entry
National Diploma (ND), National Certificate in Education (NCE) or equivalent in relevant subjects shall admit a student into 100 level. Candidates with Bachelors degrees in other subjects but have been in visual arts practice and can demonstrate proficiency with the technologies and techniques of artistic production shall also be considered for admission to 100 level. In both cases the candidate must possess English language and 4 other credits, including a portfolio of works and a demonstration of aptitudes that the Department may demand, from time to time.
Department of Architechture:
Admission Requirements
B. Tech Programme
Admission into the B. Tech architecture programme of CRUTECH may be through any of the following modes:
• Normal Admission: Candidates, who have successfully completed the Senior Secondary School programme under the 6-3-3-4 system, would be considered eligible if they have obtained passes (not below credits) in English language, Mathematics and Physics along with two other subjects selected from the following; Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Fine Art, Technical Drawing, Building Construction and Land Surveying.
• Direct Entry Admissions: Candidates who have fulfilled the requirements for “normal admission” and, in addition, possess 2 papers at the General Certificate of Education advanced-level (GCE A-levels examinations or at the Higher School Certificate (HSC) examinations in mathematics and physics, or mathematics and another relevant subject, or physics and another relevant subject, may be considered for direct admission into the 200-level of the B. Tech architecture programme.
• Special Admission: Candidates who possess the National Diploma (ND) in architectural technology may be considered for direct admission into the200-level of the B. Tech architecture programme, with the proviso that the grade of the diploma shall not be below “lower-credit” level. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) in architectural technology, at the level “lower-credit” or above, are advised to cross check their eligibility for normal admission into the Post-graduate diploma in Architecture (PGD-Arch) programme of CRUTECH.
• Transfer Cases: Persons who wish to transfer from other approved schools of architecture to CRUTECH, for reasons that are deemed acceptable and good by Senate of CRUTECH, may be considered for admission subject to the approval of Senate. Candidates that belong to this category shall be required to rectify all deficiencies in their backgrounds before graduating with the B. Tech degree in architecture from CRUTECH.
• Prerequisite Conditions for Admission: Irrespective of the mode of admission, all candidates shall be required to satisfy all the conditions prescribed by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) of the Federal Government of Nigeria for admission into universities in the country. Candidates shall be required to present documents, issued by JAMB, in confirmation of the fact that they have satisfied this prerequisite condition of admission. In all cases, it shall be the duty of persons seeking admission into the B. Tech architecture programme of CRUTECH to cross check all relevant details pertaining to the subsisting conditions at the proposed time of entry.
Admission Requirements for PGD-Arch programme.
• Without prejudice to other stipulations of Senate of CRUTECH, normal admission into the PGD-Arch programme of CRUTECH is available, in principle, to holders of any of the following qualifications, but actual selection shall be by merit, in the first instance, and also in conformity to other stipulations of Senate.
• Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) in architectural technology, at the level “lower-credit” or above, are eligible for normal admission into the Post-graduate diploma in Architecture (PGD-Arch) programme of CRUTECH.
• Holders of Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree in architecture of CRUTECH at “third-class honours division” (or any other similar degree approved by Senate of CRUTECH) are eligible for normal admission into the Post-graduate diploma in Architecture (PGD-Arch) programme of CRUTECH.
Admission Requirements for the M. Tech programme.
• Normal admission into the M. Tech architecture programme of CRUTECH is available, in principle, to holders of any of the following qualifications, but final selection shall be by merit, in the first instance, and also in conformity to other stipulations of Senate.
• Holders of Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree in architecture of CRUTECH at “second-class honours − lower division” (or any other similar degree approved by Senate of CRUTECH) are eligible for normal admission into the Master of Technology (M. Tech) programme of CRUTECH.
• Holders of the Post-graduate Diploma in Architecture (PGD-Arch) of CRUTECH (or any other similar qualification approved by Senate of CRUTECH) are eligible for normal admission into the Master of Technology (M. Tech) programme of CRUTECH.
• Subject to approval of Senate of CRUTECH, persons, who in addition to Higher National Diploma (HND) in architectural technology (not below the “lower-credit” level), also (having successfully completed all the stipulated professional examinations) possess, as additional qualification, the “Charter of Fully-Registered Architect,” issued under the seal of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria – (ARCON) shall be considered eligible for special admission into the Master of Technology (M. Tech) programme of CRUTECH.
Department of Estate Management:
Admission Requirements
Candidates for admission through entrance examination organized by JAMB must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with not less than five credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Economics; a basic science subject and one other subject from Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Geography, Building Construction, Surveying, Technical Drawing and Fine Art.
Department of Urban And Regional Planning:
The admission into B.Tech degree in Urban and Regional Planning is through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and Direct Entry.
Universities Matriculation Examinations
Candidates must have credit in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, one science subject from the group of (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts and Surveying).
Direct Entry into 100, 200 and 300 Levels
Candidates must have the requisite entry requirements for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) in addition to the specific requirements for direct entry into different levels (i.e. 1000, 2000, and 3000).
Direct Entry into 100 (Year I) Level
Candidates must possess a General Certificate of Education (GCE ‘A’ Level) or its equivalent such as National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) in related subjects combination which must include Mathematics, Geography and any of the following subjects : Government, Economics ,Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Fine Arts and Technical Drawing.
Direct Entry into 200 (Year II) Level
Candidates must possess a General Certificate of Education (GCE ‘A’ Level) with at least a GPA of 15 points from subjects which must include Geography, Mathematics and any of the following subjects: Government, Economics ,Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Fine Arts and Technical Drawing or National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning or related disciplines at a minimum of Lower Credit Level. Applicants seeking admission through the University Matriculation Examination (UME) for the 4 (Four) year programme must:
Possess a minimum of 5 (Five) Credits/Merits at not more than two sittings from either the Senior School Certificate or its equivalents and or the Teachers’ Grade II (TC II) in relevant Subject areas in addition to an acceptable pass in the UME.

The department offers a Four-Year Programme for UME Candidates and a Three-Year programme for Direct Entry Candidates.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To be admitted to any of the programmes in the department, students are expected to pass the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination. In addition students are required to obtain five credit passes in the relevant areas including English Language, Mathematics and Economics at SSCE and GCE O’ Level or their equivalents in not more than two sittings.
DIRECT ENTRY
Candidates for direct entry are expected to possess Advanced Level GCE or its equivalent in addition to Ordinary Level GCE or its equivalent with at least three credit passes in relevant areas which must include English Language and Mathematics.
Holders of National Diploma in Business and Management at lower credit level, NCE (Business) and IJMB with an average score of 3 points are also qualified for direct entry admissions. Accountancy Department
Admission Requirements
Admission of students into the departments is through the University Matriculation Examination conducted by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB).
To qualify for admission into the Department of Accountancy for the B.Sc. programme in Accountancy, a candidate must satisfy the general University requirements as outlined in the JAMB brochure guidelines for admission to first degree courses in Nigerian Universities. JAMB (UTME)
A candidate may qualify for admission into the Faculty of Management Sciences and the Department of Accountancy by satisfying the following:-

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission of students into the Department is through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE). Candidates must posses five O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three from Tourism, Geography, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics/Commerce, Government, Accounting, Home Economics, etc. in not more than two sittings from West African School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level or NECO.
DIRECT ENTRY
Candidates for Direct Entry must, in addition to meeting the requirements stated in the general requirements above, possess a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE): in Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Social Studies, Geography, Economics, Business Education or any other related area. National Diploma (ND/OND): in Business Administration, Marketing, Catering Management, Tourism or Hospitality Management at credit/merit level and above from a recognized institution. To gain admission into the Faculty a candidate must credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics in not more than two sittings from WAEC, NECO and any other recognized Examination bodies by the University, in addition to passing UME and University Post UME Test. Graduates of (HND or B.Sc.) in related disciplines at upper credit level shall be considered.

REQUIREMENTS FOR B.SC. DEGREE.
The entry qualification for the four year B.Sc. degree programme are as follows: West African Senior School Certificate, G.C.E., NECO and NABTEB with credits in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics. Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
REQUIREMENT FOR STUDENT STATUS
Admission into the University and into the faculty of basic medical sciences is offered subject to passing JAMB and meeting the Cross River University of Technology screening/aptitude test.such successful candidates are required to pay an acceptance fee on resumption into the CRUTECH micro finance bank.
Department of Human Anatomy
Entry qualification for the B.Sc. course in Anatomy is similar to that required for B.Sc. courses in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Cross River University of Technology.
The UME entry requirements for the B.Sc. (Hons) degree program in Anatomy are five (5) credit passes at ordinary level SSCE or GCE which should include credit passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English Language obtained at not more than two sittings.

Department of Animal Science
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Entry requirements:
Candidates should posses at least, five “Ordinary Level” subjects passed at credit level, in their CGE, SSCE or NECO in not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include: English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and any of the following subjects, Physics, Economics and Geography. Candidates substituting Agricultural Science for Biology must also earn a pass in Biology in addition to the credit pass in Agricultural Science.
Unified Tertiary Institutions Matriculation Examination (UTME)
Admission into year one will require sitting for the following UTME subjects:
English Language, Chemistry, and any of the following two subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics and Geography.
Direct Entry (DE):
For Direct Entry: – “A” level passes in the relevant subjects; ND with a minimum of Upper Credit and NCE with a minimum of merit plus 5 credits in WASCE/NECO/GCE “O” level may be admitted into 200 Level.
Course duration – 5 years for UME and 4 years for direct entry candidates.
Graduation Requirements:
To graduate, a student shall have undergone 4 or 5 years of study depending on his entry point, including one practical year of 12 months. The activities of the practical year should include periodic seminars on the student’s work as a way of stimulating interest as well as the presentation of a written report to be graded at the end of the year. The student must earn a minimum of 167 credit units for the five year programme and 132 credit units for the four year (direct entry) programme in Animal Science. In addition the submission of an undergraduate project thesis based on supervised research is a graduation requirement, which cannot be compromised. This requirement exposes the student to problem-solving techniques and provides him with an ability to organize ideas from literature and research findings.
Degree classification:
The determination of the class of degree shall be based on the Cumulative Grade Point Average earned at the end of the programme. The GPA is computed by dividing the total number of credit points (TCP) b y the total number of units (TNU) for all the courses taken in the semester. The CGPA shall be used in the determination of the class of degree.
The maximum length of time allowed to obtain a degree in the Department shall be fourteen semester for the 5-year degree program and twelve semesters for students admitted directly into the 200 level. For extension beyond the maximum period, a special permission of senate shall be required on the recommendation of the faculty board.
Probation
Probation is a status granted to a student whose academic performance falls below on acceptable standard. A student whose cumulative grade point average is below 1.50 at the end of a particular year of study, earns a period of probation for one academic session.
Withdrawal
A candidate whose cumulative grade point average is below 1.50 at the end of a particular period of probation should be required to withdraw from the university.
Any student who cannot satisfy the graduation requirements within 2-years after the prescribed duration for the programme (i.e. 6 or 7 years after admission) shall be required to withdraw from the university.
Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission through UTME:
Credit passes in WAEC/NECO/SSCE/GCE/O/L in five (5) subjects including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any two subjects from Agricultural Science or Biology, Economics, Geography and Physics at not more than two sittings. Candidates must have an acceptable pass in JAMB examination (at least 180) and pass the post-UTME aptitude test.
Admission through the University Pre-Degree Programme:
Candidate must have credit passes in WAEC/NECO/SSCE/GCE/O/L in five (5) subjects as listed above with CGPA of 2.50 and above in pre-degree result and must have passed the JAMB examination.
Admission through direct entry:
Candidate must have credit passes in WAEC/NECO/SSCE/GCE/O/L in five (5) subjects as listed above with OND, NCE or HND in Agriculture or related areas and a minimum of Lower Credit (CGPA of 2.50 and above).

Admission Requirements
Candidates should posses at least five “ordinary level” subject passed at credit level in GCE, SSCE or NECO in not more than two sittings. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
UNIVERSITY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UME)
Admission to the first year (100 level) of B. Forestry programme of the Department of forestry and wildlife management is through the University examination matriculation (UME). A candidate must have credits in at least 5 (five relevant subjects at not more than two sittings.
Credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany/Agricultural science are compulsory. The fifth credit pass may be in physics, Geography, or any other science subject.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT
A candidate who in addition to possessing the qualifications stated in 4.1 above who also obtains an HSC or GCE A/L or IJMB with passes in two or three science subject at the prescribed grades may be admitted to the second year (200 level) of the programme.
The two or three science subjects required shall be selected from the following: Chemistry (compulsory), Biology/Botany, Zoology, Geography, Mathematics, and physics (Note that biology and Botany are not accepted as two subjects).
OND Holders (minimum of lower credit) in Forestry, Wildlife, Fisheries and General Agriculture from reputable Institutions and Chemistry at O/Level may be admitted into the second year (200 level) of the degree programme.
NCE holders (minimum of lower credit) in Agriculture with credit pass in Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural science at O/Level may be admitted into the second year (200 level) of the degree programme.
HND holders with credit pass in Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural science at O/Level may be admitted into the third year (300level) of the degree programme.
