Design and Display

For the iPhone 11, Apple has stuck to its premium design philosophy. Here, we’ll receive a front and a black glass panel. That’s more than we can say about the iPhone XR from last year, which didn’t receive the same level of premium treatment as the rest of the lineup.

An aluminium frame, as the firm has become known for, connects these glass panels to one another.

On the front, there’s a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 828 x 1792 pixels.

Those who grumbled about the notch last year will find it on the iPhone 11 as well, so you may want to avoid it. If you don’t mind, though, you can still enjoy up to 79 percent of the screen to the device’s body.

The selfie camera, sensors, and loudspeaker are all located on the notch. The Lightning port on a USB 2.0 protocol, as well as a speakerphone grille and a microphone port, are all located at the bottom of the device. The power button, volume rocker, and dedicated mute button are all located on the device’s sides.

When you look at the rear of the phone, you’ll notice a new camera housing unit with two quite large lenses. A dedicated LED flash is also included for enhanced low-light image capture, but we’ll get into that later.

Finally, the iPhone 11 is available in Black, Green, Yellow, Purple, Red, and White colors. If you’ve been pleading with Apple to expand the number of color selections available on their devices, your prayers have been heard.

Camera

We can’t talk about iPhones without mentioning the cameras that come with them. As a result, we’re just as enthusiastic to talk about these cameras as you are to use them.

The iPhone 11 has two camera sensors on the front, one of which is a 12 megapixel camera and the other is a ToF 3D sensor.

Because they contribute to the depth of the photos, this should improve the way you capture portrait photography with front-facing cameras. When it comes to image depth, these front cameras come with HDR out of the box.

Apple kept things simple on the back with two cameras once again. This time, they went with a 12 megapixel main wide-angle camera and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide camera as a backup.

They have a quad-LED, dual-tone flash system for better photographs in low-light situations. HDR characteristics are, of course, completely integrated into this supporting camera module.

For smooth point-and-shoot photography, phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilization are included.

Hardware, Software and Other Features

Apple makes its own chipsets, and the iPhone 11 features the in-house A13 Bionic CPU, which is manufactured using a 7nm+ technology. The processor will also function with the new iOS 13’s unique design, which promises to be highly powerful.

Apple is known for having a variety of storage options, thus the iPhone 11’s base model comes with 64GB of built-in storage.

For those who require extra storage, models with 128GB or 256GB built-in storage are available. However, regardless of which iPhone 11 model you choose, you’ll get the same 4GB RAM.

Of course, you shouldn’t expect to find a microSD card slot, so deciding on a storage option becomes even more critical.

The iPhone 11 is designed to work in a variety of markets, resulting in a variation in the number of SIM cards available.

While some only support one SIM, some support standby dual SIM technology. Apart from that, all devices have an IP68 designation, which ensures dust and water protection.

Finally, the scratch-resistant glass and oleophobic coating on the front/back glass panels ensure that the phone’s face is protected from smudges and damage under a variety of settings.

iPhone 11 Price and Availability

In Nigeria, the iPhone 11 starts at roughly 320,000 Naira, depending on where you are in the country. Leading internet retailers have prices starting at roughly $700. The pricing in Kenya starts at roughly 85,000 KSh.

The 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants of the iPhone are priced at $699, $749, and $849, respectively.

The phone was announced at Apple’s annual event, however it was not immediately available for purchase. While preorders are already being sent out, the phone will be available on September 20th.
