Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max made a big sensation in the Indian market earlier this year. These two smartphones featured amazing specifications at affordable costs, but the euphoria was short-lived because, due to rupee-dollar volatility and a GST increase, they have both become more expensive. Xiaomi has now introduced the Redmi Note 9, a smartphone that costs less than Rs. 15,000 in India. When compared to its predecessors, it has more powerful internals, but is it excellent value for money? To find out, I’m reviewing the new Redmi Note 9.

Redmi Note 9 Summary

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is the company’s entry-level model in the Note 9 series. Its design is similar to that of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. It has a 6.53-inch touchscreen with a hole in the top left corner. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display provides acceptable viewing angles, although some individuals may find the notch distracting.

The MediaTek Helio G85 SoC powers the Redmi Note 9. The Redmi Note 9 comes in three different configurations: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. A microSD card slot can be used to boost storage even more. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 comes with a 5,020mAh battery and a 22.5W charger.

A 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor make up the Redmi Note 9’s quad-camera configuration. In daylight, the Redmi Note 9 takes good images, and the AI detects scenes quickly. The camera’s low-light performance was average, and the Night mode didn’t make a significant difference in the final product.
