Wizkid earned a lucrative record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment, a recording label founded by Banky W., in 2009. Previously, the promising musician was a student at Lagos State University. He did, however, opt to drop out after signing a contract. He later enrolled in Lead City University, but his drive to compose music overtook his academic ambitions. After two sessions, he dropped out of this institution.
